I’ve just helped a friend set up a blog on Word press. It’s called morecoherent.wordpress.com. The host, Wordpress.com, is the hosting counterpart to the very popular open source blogging platform at wordpress.org.
They’ve made it dead easy so that even a guy who tends to hit enter when ever he gets near the end of the line can figure out how to add to a blog. For those too young to have used typewriters, hitting return was the way to get to a new line along with hitting the bar to push the round thingy back to the other side of the keys. Typewriters involved lining things up a lot on the paper.
I didn’t have to use them long since by the time I was in Grade 12 we had a computer lab where we did rudimentary programming. I made a man run across the screen and past bushes and houses before he got beamed up by a spaceship. It was such a strange idea that I had to punch in the coordinates and then had to use hexadecimal to make the guy move.
Back to my friend. Brian Burch is a long time housing and poverty activist. He writes on Christianity, faith, anarchism, activism, housing, and so on.
